The flowering Judas trees are a distinctive feature of the University Campus. The Judas tree, or Cercis siliquastrum, is a tree native to the Mediterranean landscape, resistant to drought and cold, with flowers in shades of purple (magenta). These characteristics symbolize the LCC\u2019s connection with the University of Patras and the prospect of its growth, represented by the flowering branch, while its Mediterranean nature and
