Foreign Language Unit
Academic Year 2025–2026
The Foreign Language Unit of the University of Patras is pleased to announce that, for the academic year 2025–2026, it will once again offer a series of foreign language courses designed to support the academic and professional competencies of our students and the university community.
In addition to the instruction of English for Specific and Academic Purposes, which is available across all departments of the university, the Unit will also offer instruction in French, German, and Russian. These courses are provided on an interdepartmental basis and will cover all levels of language proficiency, from A1 to C2, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The final formation of groups and course levels will depend on the level of interest expressed by students and other members of the university community.
Information sessions and schedule confirmation for each language will take place in the teaching room on the third floor of the Foreign Language Unit.
A) The session for the German language will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., and will be conducted by Ms Freideriki Sava (fsava@upatras.gr).
B) The session for the French language will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 1:00 p.m., led by Ms Aggeliki Sdouga (aggasda@upatras.gr).
C) The session for the Russian language will take place on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., under the instruction of Dr. Xenia Kalita (kalitaxenia@upatras.gr).
In addition, a new cycle of Spanish language courses (level A1), offered in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes of Athens, is planned to commence during the Spring Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. Further information and a detailed announcement will be issued at the beginning of the semester.
The Foreign Language Unit is located at the Main Library Building (South Wing), on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
