
Dr. Papagianni holds a PhD on 20th century American film and literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), USA (on scholarship). She has taught film, literature, creative writing and ESP, EAP courses at Zayed University, UAE as an Associate Professor, at the State University of New York at Buffalo as a Lecturer, USA and at Athens Kapodestrian University in Greece as a seconded scholar. She is currently a faculty member at the University of Patras and at the Hellenic Open University.
Her research focuses primarily on American and Anglophone world literature and cinema with a specific interest on issues of memory, history and identity. Her recent work includes chapters in edited volumes (‘Reorienting the Gaze. Emirati Women Behind the Camera’ in Reorienting with the Gulf: Film and Digital Media between the Middle East and South Asia, edited by Dale Hudson and Alia Yunis.
