
Dr Togia is a highly qualified linguist and experienced educator with a strong academic background in English and linguistics. She holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her doctoral research explored cognitive approaches to antonymy, using data from English and Modern Greek, reflecting her deep engagement with semantic and pragmatic aspects of linguistics. Over the years, she has gained extensive experience in designing and delivering courses on technical English and academic communication skills tailored to engineering disciplines.
Her contributions also include participation in European research initiatives, including the development of Open Educational Resources for engineering students worldwide. Her scholarly work encompasses published books, research articles and conference presentations on topics related to teaching academic writing in engineering contexts and exploring cognitive linguistics. Beyond academia, she has worked in the UK as a usability consultant for digital platforms, applying her linguistic expertise to improve user experience. In her role as an ESP/EAP instructor at the University of Patras, she integrates technical English and academic communication skills with a commitment to innovative and impactful education.
