The fourth and final semester of the english languge requirement is focused on language and grammar related to the following subjects: Surgery, Cancer, Diagnostic and Imaging Procedures, First Aid, Forms of Drugs And How They Act, Introduction to Pharmacology, Physicians and Medical Specialties.
Learning objectives:
- comprehending texts related to the above mentioned medical topics
- practical use and understanding of language and grammar found in these texts
- understanding surgical language and terminology
- practical use and understanding of surgical suffixes
- comprehending various videos on related topics through listening and watching and transfering information
- forming compound words often found in medical texts
- forming compound phrases often found in medical texts
- distinguishing the three different names of a drug
- recognizing and understanding terms and abbreviations related to basic examination positions, laboratory tests, diagnostic and imaging procedures
- practical use and understanding of suffixes used in diagnosyc testing
- understanding and catagorizing forms of drugs
- understanding terminology related to routes of drug administration
- understanding and practical use of language and terms related to medical emergencies
- understanding and practical use of language and terms related to cancer
