* Attendance in the above course is obligatory. You are entitled to up to 3 absences.

The courses are intended for adult learners (foreign nationals and persons of Greek origin) who have completed at least secondary education, both within and outside the University of Patras community.

The requirement to hold a secondary school leaving certificate does not apply to political refugees.

• Four-month programme: 4 hours per week (13 weeks)
• Eight-month programme: 3 hours per week (26 weeks)

A minimum of 8 months (26 weeks, corresponding to at least 100 teaching hours) is required to progress from level A1 to A2.

The amount of time required increases progressively with the level of language proficiency.

Specialized Greek language programmes, including intensive courses and programmes preparing participants for the Greek citizenship examinations (Greek Citizenship Examinations), as well as programmes preparing third-country nationals for the Greek language proficiency examinations required for obtaining long-term resident status, are offered only subject to demand and provided that there is a sufficient number of interested participants.
